Influence of the current type and speed of electrode rotation at electroslag remelting on the steel chemical composition

Бесплатный доступ

In this work the experimental data of change of the chemical composition of steel obtained during the electroslag remelting depending on the current type (alternate or direct current) and on the speed of consumable electrode rotation are given. In spite of the significant productivity improvement and reduction of the power consumption the changes of the chemical composition are not observed, excluding the increase of Mn and Si waste. The increased waste is a result of the extension of the reaction surface due to the size reduction of the electrode metal droplet.
