The results of the theoretical analysis give a new urgency to the problem of ethnic identity development in the younger generation. The main conditions for of the ethnic identity development in children involve the formed ethnic identity of the parents, their desire to develop the ethnic identity in their children, as well as parental involvement. A quantitative analysis of the empirical study results has shown that the parents of students studying at Zhemchug Secondary School have a high level of ethnic identity development, and a positive emotional attitude to their ethnic identity prevails among them. A correlation analysis has revealed that there is a significant moderate positive correlation between the indicator of parental involvement in the process of ethnic identity formation and the level of its development in children. The study has shown the direct influence of parents on the ethnic identity formation in children under conditions of global change.
