The influence of the Russian-Japanese war on Western Transbaikalia: the national historiography of the problem

The article reveals and analyzes the assessments of the influence of the Russian-Japanese war on Western Transbaikalia which dominate in the national historiography in the pre-revolutionary, Soviet and modern periods. It has been revealed that the main attention of the researchers is focused on studying the issues of participating the representatives of Trans-Baikal Cossacks in military actions, making use of the Trans-Baikal Railway and of developing industries that serve it, analyzing geopolitical and social consequences of the Russian-Japanese War.
