The impact of sanctions on car imports in Russia

This article discusses the impact of sanctions on the import of cars in Russia. The sanctions of the European Union and the United States have had an impact on the import of foreign cars in Russia. Western automakers have suspended deliveries and activities in Russia. European brands do not send new cars to Russian dealers. Local factories with production and localized assembly plants, for example, Mercedes, BMW, Renault, Volkswagen and others, have paused the assembly of vehicles. This affected both European automakers of new cars and the aftermarket. Due to the sharp fluctuations in the exchange rate, the shortage of cars from dealers, as well as the wave of sanctions against Russia, there has been a rapid increase in car prices.
