The influence of noise on the measurement error of the pilot laser roundness meter

Бесплатный доступ

Results of noise influence numerical modeling on the roundness meter informative parameters are presented. This device was developed at Samara Branch of Physical Institute of RAS. This device scans a surface by a focused beam and determines the reflected beam coordinates. Two algorithms were studied: the first one was based on a “weight center” approach, and the second one was based on an approximation. A digital adaptive threshold signal filtering reduced the influence of the modeled noise. The results have satisfactorily coincided with the research data error on the sampling of the signal given in the literature. The statistics sample volume of 10000 histograms of the simulation results of measurements didn't practically distinguish from a normal distribution for both of the algorithms. It proved to be that the second algorithm had the error in one and a half times more that the first one.
