The impact of change of power in Ukraine on the possibility of its European integration

The present study analyzes political changes that took place in Ukraine in 2019 and their impact on the integration of this country in the European Union (EU). The author considers the main criteria which every candidate for joining the EU is obligated to meet, the current circumstances which obstruct further rapprochement of Ukraine with the Western countries and the policy pursued by the new Ukrainian government aimed at bringing the mechanism of the government into line with the stated criteria. The conclusion made is that Ukraine does not have any significant achievements in the specified field due to the lack of staff to implement the reforms required to enter the EU as well as because of the processes taking place in the EU itself. However, the country still has the potential for progress in the future.
