The paper presents the results of prospective study of the effect of combined anesthesia on respiratory index in 53 endometrial cancer patients with metabolic syndrome during surgery. The study group patients (n=26) underwent surgery with xenon anesthesia combined with epidural anesthesia. The control group patients (n=27) were operated on under combined anesthesia with sevorane and epidural anesthesia. The study results showed the favorable effect of xenon anesthesia on the respiratory system in patients with metabolic syndrome due to increase in respiratory quotient (RQ) and PaO2 as compared to the control group patients receiving anesthesia with sevorane
