The Influence of Social Media on the Moral Values of Modern Students

The article investigates social media from the perspective of its impact on the life-style and activities of modern students. Today, social media exerts a significant influ-ence on students’ daily lives. The article presents the results of a survey using the “Questionnaire” and “Incomplete Sentences” methods. Fifty students have participat-ed, including students from Buryat State University named after Dorzhi Banzarov and its affiliated college. The study reports findings on questions such as: which social networks are popular among students, how much time students spend on social media, how social media assists students, students’ attitudes toward inappropriate language online, emotions experienced while using social media, and students’ moods on so-cial media. The article analyzes how social media affects the moral values of modern students and its broader impact on their lives and activities, highlighting both positive and negative aspects. The conclusion includes educators’ recommendations for miti-gating the negative influence of social media on students.
