The influence of tourism activity on the socioeconomic development of regions

This article is devoted to the study of the urgent problem of the impact of the tourism industry on the socio- economic development of regions. The author notes that tourism in the Russian regions is currently actively developing, undergoing rapid transformation and becoming a highly profitable segment of the economy. Thanks to the development of the tourism industry, infrastructure is being developed, new jobs are being created, local incomes are increasing, and the cultural and historical heritage of the region is being preserved. The author considers tourism as an investment in the future of the region, affecting economic efficiency and socio- cultural benefits. As a result of the conducted research, it is concluded that as a result of the increasing competition between the regions, there is a need to attract tourists and develop the tourism industry as a whole. All this seems to be an important factor in ensuring sustainable development and improving the quality of life of the local population.
