This article discusses the essence of flexible skills for tourism and hospitality professionals. The relevance of the study lies in the fact that to achieve success in business and career growth, it is not enough to have a professional academic bachelor's or master's degree, since in the modern world, where competition and change occur at a high speed, and the possession of flexible skills becomes a key factor in success in professional activities. The purpose of this article is to explore the importance of the competencies of flexible skills required in the field of tourism. As a result of the study, the authors revealed that the business communities of the tourism and hospitality sectors are increasingly paying attention to the personal qualities of potential employees, preferring to hire candidates with developed soft skills, which includes a wide range of competencies to satisfy customer consumer preferences.
