The article deals with the problem of the influence of the military command and the Orthodox military clergy on the education of personnel in the historical context. The urgency of the problem is due to the need to address a number of issues that contribute to an objective, impartial and deep understanding of the processes of formation and development of religious traditions, the formation of spiritual and moral education of military personnel, and the preservation of historical memory. The subject of the article is the specifics of the influence of the military command and the Orthodox military clergy on the education of the personnel of the Russian Army in the First World War; the object is the relationship of the Orthodox military clergy and military personnel during the First World War. The purpose of the article is to identify the features of the relations between the Orthodox military clergy and military personnel, which determine the specifics of the influence of these relations on the education of the personnel of the Russian Army in the First World War. The following research methods are used: analysis (comparative, synchronous, and diachronic), interpretation, concretization, generalization, description, and historical method. The novelty of the study is due to the fact that a comprehensive (taking into account various aspects) analysis was carried out, during which it was established that the influence on the education of military personnel was provided due to a number of factors, including the transfer of a special cultural and genetic code that reveals Orthodox culture as an invaluable spiritual source about human life in the past, present and future.
