Influence of pests on the quality of grain of spring wheat in the forest-steppe of the Samara region

This article presents the results of grain quality of soft spring wheat, depending on pest damage. According to the results of the data, barley aphids are a dangerous pest for spring wheat, yield loss from barley aphids is 15-20%. The pest has a negative influence on the baking qualities of the grain, the highest grade of spring wheat is the Kinelskaya Otrada. All samples showed a decrease in the studied parameters, especially the strong influence of barley aphids had on the “strength of the flour.” The least indicators of the grain damage of barley aphids and changes in the technological parameters of the grain quality of spring wheat are noted in the varieties of spring wheat Kinelskaya 59 and Kinelskaya Jubilee, which proved to be the most resistant to this pest and can be used to obtain a healthy harvest in the baking industry and a donor of stiffness in breeding.
