Implementation of wrestling and hand-to-hand fights in the system of law enforcement officers’ physical training within professional training programmes

The modern system of Law enforcement officers’ physical training does not meet the requirements. The process of mastering skills of fighting with offenders who show aggression or use violence and resist forcefully requires crucial improvement. Making statistical analysis and studying circumstances of the cases where police offices got injured by the offenders enable the authors to discuss the causes of low level of police officers’ readiness to act adequately in hand-to-hand or close fights. Introduction of methods of mastering hand-to-hand fights into the higher education and professional training, integration of hand-to-hand and close fights in the lesson structure will significantly improve criminogenic environment determined by deviant behaviour towards police officers or government officials.
