The Article allows to evaluate the importance and essence of the information system in the process of functioning of the enterprise in various fields of activity and industries. The market does not stand still, it is subject to change and development, which requires a high level of competitiveness. To ensure a high level of competitiveness of the organization, it is necessary to have a special superiority in at least one area in relation to its direct competitors, to have certain distinctive features, i.e. competitive advantages that need not only to find, but also to keep, which is more difficult. In this regard, we present the definition of competitive advantages of the organization, which allow to identify competitive advantages and assess the position of the enterprise in relation to competitors.
