Introduction of blood-saving ideology in the practice of the Pirogov center

Introduction of the blood-saving ideology at the Pirogov center resulted in approval of «Regulations for blood components administration», twofold reduction of red cells consumption and threefold reduction of plasma consumption. The Pirogov center has formulated the vital tasks of the blood banking: 1) introduction of modern transfusion media; 2) ensured compliance with «Regulations for blood components administration» and introduction of auditing of the blood transfusion practice; 3) introduction of the system of error management.
