The article is devoted to the value of interdisciplinary research forming the methodological foundations of Russian environmental law. The author gives preference to the analysis of their impact on the evolution of environmental law in Russia. The relevance of studying methodological foundations of modern environmental law is conditioned by numerous economic and ecologic problems faced by the world community. For instance, the state program of the Russian Federation "Protection of environment in 2012- 2020" adopted by the government in 2012, revealed nonsufficient level of interest in the ecological modernization of production on behalf of economic entities, as well as the low share of investments in Russia's GDP. These factors not only hinder the development of ecological sector of economics, but also lower the competitive advantages of Russian economy in the field of resource-saving and ecologically effective technologies. This happens on the background of severe anthropogenic impact on nature and the dangers provoked by the consequences of economic activity. In order to ensure the sequential development of environmental law and to improve its legal regulations we must appeal to the physical picture of the world that will allow for the implementation of the methodological foundations, which are caused by the influence of external factors.
