Intra-regional economic areas Vologda region: development trends and specificity of management

Бесплатный доступ

The article explores the features of the development of space at the intraregional level. Using the intraregional mesh areas E.E. Leizerovich, trends in the development of areas of the Vologda region are shown. It is shown that in the post-Soviet period, processes were actively proceeding in the region that led to some transformation of the existing spatial and economic framework. This is manifested primarily in an increase in the processes of concentration of economic and social activity in the “nodal” points (Vologda, Cherepovets, Veliky Ustyug) and some degradation of the production (industrial, agricultural, etc.), infrastructural and human potential of the peripheral municipalities. These processes ultimately lead to a compaction and fragmentation of the economic space of the region, which actualizes the need to implement regional policies aimed at overcoming destructive trends based on the effective use of the potential of each intra-regional region.
