Water resources in the context of assessing the quality of life in Russian megacities: studying the satisfaction and everyday practices of the population

The article is devoted to the issues of ensuring a high quality of life in Russian megacities by means of water policy. The results of secondary data analysis of sociological research of the role of water on the quality of life of Russians, summary carried out by the author in 2017-2018, research objectives, problems and media images of water policy in Moscow and Kazan, as well as the results of mass survey of residents of these cities about their satisfaction with quality of tap water and water consumption practices implemented in 2018. The conclusion about the potentially destructive consequences of the water policy for the quality of life in cities is substantiated.
