Military service as a factor in the evolution of the social perspectives of the Jewish people in the Russian empire

The article investigates the Jews integration problem into Russian society. Due to historical circumstances, the main integration methods became military duty. Recruitment and military service, which carried out such a service were an ordeal for Jews, but also contributed to a fairly successful engagement of a significant part of Jews in Russian society. Аn author tried to reveal the complex and contradictory nature of the Jews social integration process in Russia during XIX - early XX centuries.
