Military-political work - the basis of military personnel education: history and modernity

The necessity and importance of military-political work as the unity of the processes of training and education of military personnel, forming high spiritual and moral qualities - the honor of an officer, a progressive worldview, an active life position and fighting spirit are noted. The study of scientific literature, regulatory and legal sources and generalization of my own practical experience of service in the armed forces allows us to analyze the current state of military-political work in the educational activities of a military university. The author points out that one of the priority tasks of military-political work is the formation of a sense of patriotism, and such components as love for the Fatherland, people and culture have shown their significance both in the historical past and at present. Party and political work of the Soviet period was a form of educational activity based on Marxist-Leninist ideology, which coped with the task of forming spiritual and moral guidelines. The article emphasizes that today high-quality military-political work ensures the creation of a favorable atmosphere in a military educational institution that contributes to the implementation of the goals of military training and education. The considered forms and methods of military-political work are aimed at nurturing the social maturity of young people, forming the personality of a cadet as a worthy citizen and patriot. In general, the effectiveness of this work depends on a systematic approach to the daily activities of the cadet, its maximum coverage, the presence of a system of control and evaluation of results. Cognitive activity, competitiveness, formation of a sense of collectivism and provision of conditions for development of individual abilities educate the defender of the Fatherland.
