Military reforms of Peter I in the light of the "path dependence" concept

The article is dedicated to the assessment of the consequences of the reforms of Peter I in the military sphere from the point of view of political economy. Great attention is paid to the problem of long-term trends in the development of Russian institutions on the example of the armed forces. The influence of the events of the early XVIII century on the fixation of development patterns that hindered full-fledged military-technical and social progress is analyzed.
