Military courtesy of Scythians and ancient Slavs

The scientific relevance of the article is that the society and the current leaders of the state pay more attention to the reinforcement of moral and cultural foundations of the Russian army, enabling better accomplishment of its tasks. The article considers military courtesy as a means of teaching proper behavior to military personnel. Basing upon the data of historical science, the author presents his vision of emergence and development of military courtesy of ancient Slavs, which was integrated into the system of warriors’ education. The author believes that the positive experience of formation of the courtesy behavior may be applied in the process of educational, cultural and leisure activities of the modern military servicemen today.
