The paper publishes a nomadic warrior grave dating to the end of the 4th century BC which is a secondary kurgan burial in the Kitaevskoe-2 cemetery of the Bronze Age in the Central Stavropol region. This paper explores a small series of contemporaneous warrior graves containing similar swords that appeared at the turn of two major periods, i.e. during the transition from the Scythian period to the Sarmatian period. Weaponry and accompanying offerings in the graves have a broad range of parallels in Scythianlike and Maeotian antiquities while ceramics are of Fore-Caucasus origin. The burial rite shares common traits with the rites of the Lower Volga nomads and nomadic groups of the Kuban region, though it differs from the Early Sarmatian burial traditions.
