War and military traditions in the cultures of the peoples of the south of Russia: results of researches

The article includes basic information about the all-Russian scientific-practical conference "War and the Military Traditions in the Cultures of the Peoples of the South of Russia" (6th Tokarev Readings), organized and conducted on May 4-5, 2017 by the Institute of History and International Relations of the Southern Federal University together with the Priest Elijah Popov Fund аnd the Association of the Festival of the Cossack National Sports and National Creativity "Sharmili". A review of the issues of the presentations and main reports of the conference participants is given. The researchers shared the results of empirical research and theoretical developments in the field of military culture, the place and role off military traditions among the peoples of the South of Russia and in the space of civilizations of New time.
