Waves of Integration and Differentiation in the Dynamics of Russian Statehood and its Regions

This article examines the waves of integration and differentiation in the political development of Russia and Western countries. The author demonstrates that alternation of the waves of integration and differentiation took place in the dynamics of Russian statehood. This alternation of different waves has an influence on the interaction between central and regional authorities. The study concludes that this cyclical alternation correlates with shifts in technological and social paradigms, as described by Kondratiev cycles and evolutionary cycles of world system.
