Volunteering in student assessments: advantages and barriers

Volunteer activity is especially in demand in modern Russian society. Various areas of volunteerism are gaining relevance both at the federal and regional levels: environmental, social, inclusive, event-based, patriotic, pro bono and others. The main goals of the development of volunteering are to expand the real and potential opportunities for self-realization of the population, increase the role of volunteering in social development, the formation and dissemination of volunteer innovative practices of social activity. An important subject for the implementation of such activity is student youth, who has sufficient resource potential for this. The author presents the results of a pilot sociological study on the relevance of volunteering among students. The advantages and risks of volunteering according to the respondents are noted, as well as the possibilities of volunteers in solving significant problems in the region.
