Imagination and the dialectics of Christian identity

The article deals with Hegel's thesis about the role of imagination in the framework of the dialectical evolution of Christian cultural identity and its evaluation in the modernist philosophy. The function and value of imagination as it had been presented in "The Phenomenology of Spirit" were distorted later. The outcome of the dialectics of identity was assessed unilaterally by rationalism and imagination as discovery of inner world was diminished in its ontological validity.
