Armed conflict in Syria: the Turkish factor and the settlement problem

The article deals with the settlement of the armed conflict in Syria. The author analyzes mainly the role of the Turkish Republic in stopping the bloodshed and makes a number of conclusions regarding both Turkey's positive contribution to the peace settlement process in Syria and the ambiguous position of the TR on a number of key issues of the post-war development of Syria.
