Russian armed forces and the Republic of Tajikistan: some aspects of strategic partnership (1992-2008)

In the article the author analyzes the role and place of the Russian armed forces in the strategic partnership with Tajikistan, who is a steadfast ally and partner of Russia. The Tajikistan armed forces were successively built with Russia's help. The Collective Peacekeeping Forces, the 201 Motorized Infantry Division, (201 Russian Military Base) and Russian border guard are guarantees of security in Tajikistan. Russian military advisers at the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Tajikistan train military personnel. The establishment of united military systems, military and economic cooperation within the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), anti-terrorism exercises in the Central Asia region ensure security and independence of the C.I.S. member states.
