In this article, the author examines the period of the spiritual revival of Optina Pustyn. The theme of eldership and its influence of the Holy Monastery and its elders on Russian writers is touched upon: N.V. Gogol, F.M. Dostoevsky. Recommendations are given on what the teacher should pay attention to when preparing a thematic conversation in Sunday school.
