Issues of Operational Activities of Individual Units of the NKVD of the USSR at the Beginning of the Great Domestic War (1941-1942)

The article reveals the issues of operational activities of individual units of the Peoples Commissariat of Internal Affairs of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (hereinafter - NKVD USSR) in the initial period of the Great Patriotic War (1941-1942). The study characterizes a number of reasons, difficulties and failures of the Soviet troops at this stage of the fight against the Nazi invaders, reveals the main tasks and directions in the work to organize the repulse of the enemy, mobilization of the main resources of our country to ensure victory over the aggressor.
