A multi-level and multi-factor integrated approach to the education and development of engineering and technical interests of young people, formed in the post-war years in the Soviet Union, ensured the fulfillment of the most important socio-economic task of raising Soviet industry. This process was facilitated by the publication of diverse and accessible journals and books that popularize engineering creativity. The magazine “Young Technician” was published since 1956 and provided an indefinite preferential subscription to all schools and houses of the pioneers of the country. After the destruction of the USSR, the prestige of engineering specialties in the country fell sharply, and the magazine faced a number of financial and creative problems and could no longer properly fulfill its mission: scientific and technical education of young people. Today, to restore the economic power of Russia, due to the shortage of young engineers and technicians, the Russian Engineering Union took under its care the editors of the magazine “Young Technician”...
