The paper deals with the problem of understanding of the thieves’ argot within the linguistic world-image. Due to the rapid changes in the language field there is a scientific need for a new comprehension of the modern language, designation of the problem of the modern language transformation within the obscenity groups (for example, prison and thieves’ talk), identification of irregular blocks in the foundation of the language that impede the process of understanding. The aspect of establishment of the thieves'' slang as a phenomenon and its modern role in the linguistic field is also important in covering the subject. The key points of this process are the external and internal borrowings, the conscious act of distorting of lexical units, which gives a reason to consider this slang to be mixed with elements of artificiality. Basing on the above-stated, there is a new vision of the problem, which considers the language as a rebellion. In his writings L. Gumilyov mentions a special phenomenon, he calls it “a chimerical culture", where the haphazard connection of incompatible features dominates, where the united mentality is replaced by the complete chaos of prevailing in the society tastes, values and ideas, which creates a “typical for a chimera environment of general perversity and despondency". This model explains the aggression, the social anomie and the interjectionization, which are manifested at the levels of speech and thinking. The main method for understanding of the deep meaning of the distraction in language is the hermeneutical reflection.
