The article is devoted to the consideration of the educational functions of ballroom dancing, taking into account the needs, requests and trends of modern society. According to historical facts, dance has always been present in human life and has made its own adjustments to everyday life, upbringing and society as a whole. Over time, the dance, having gone a long way, has evolved, moving from folk to ballroom salon dance. At the same time, each time multiplying and developing their functions, methods of teaching and upbringing. Nowadays, ballroom choreographic art in all its forms is taught by art schools, sports schools, dance and sports clubs, secondary and higher educational institutions. The rehearsal and training process, like any pedagogical process, performs educational, developmental and educational functions. Let’s look at what mechanisms can be used to influence education through ballroom dancing, what tools and methods need to be used, and how these tools and methods will radically differ in the process of educational and training work from generally accepted pedagogical processes in another field.
