Perception of the creativity of N. Gogol in the light religious and ortodox axiolog

The main theme of the article is reception of the creative activity of Nikolai Gogol, first of all - his petersbourg novels, by representatives of Orthodox literary criticism. In the book “N. V. Gogol” of V. V. Zenkovsky there is studied crisis of 1836 year when ideas of aesthetic humanism were changed into ideas of religious thoughts about man and world. Gogol created multi-lateral realism, especially external and psychological forms of realism. Concept vulgarity shows impossibility of spiritual growth. The special place of Petersburg' theme, which is described not from satiric point of view, but as image of west “torgash-eskaia” civilization. Big quantity of Petersburg' peculiarities ruinous influence on people. In the monograph of I. Vinogradov “Gogol as artist and thinker: Christian base of of world-outlook” concepts “religious”, “patriotic”, “moral” are bringing together.
