Restorative justice as alternative to traditional criminal justice

This article presents an analysis of the advantages of the concept of restorative justice in comparison with the traditional (paid, punitive) criminal justice. It identifies and highlights the most powerful aspects of this promising criminological model, the use of which in Russia has not received its deserved development and distribution. The author emphasizes that the model of restorative justice places the victim of criminal behavior in a much more comfortable and favorable conditions and provides her with much greater opportunities for compensation for harm and damages than the system of traditional criminal justice.
