The area of digital image processing is not only related to feature extraction, image analysis and recovery, but also to the process of improvement, filtration and recovery. Image recovery is one of the main processing steps that involves certain digital image enhancements based on some predefined criteria. The main purpose of restoration is to create or reconstruct an image that has deteriorated based on some preliminary knowledge of the phenomena of image degradation. The recovery process is objective, i.e., it aims to achieve a specific goal, such as removing blurring from the image using the blur function. Methods used in image restoration can be formulated in the spatial or frequency domain. Image reconstruction is based on probabilistic models of image degradation. Thus, image recovery results in better image appearance.
