The authors consider the possibility and practice of involving unused or ineffectively used land plots into economic circulation. They focus on the need to change approaches to accounting (inventory) of unused lands and their subsequent involvement in circulation. They describe the practices implemented on the territory of the Republic of Karelia and substantiate the conclusion about their effectiveness.
