The effect of a fucosaspesific leсtin from bacteria of the genus Azospirillum on the cells of human fatty tissue was investigated. The study was carried out at a temperature of (43.5 ± 0.5)0С. During the work, it was shown that the lectin can accelerate the process of fatty tissue cell death not only in healthy people but also in patients with diabetes mellitus who are likely to develop adiposity. Results are given for the action various lectin concentrations on adipocytes upon heating: the temporal of changes in cell structure. The reduction in cell size and the death of adipocytes on the mechanism of an apoptosis were shown. Special attention was given to the rate of cell death. Distinctions in the character of cell death were found under the action of the leсtin and temperature, and of temperature alone.
