The impact of an explosion on building structures in numerical simulation

The article discusses various methods of modeling the impact of an explosion on building structures. It is noted that explosive loading differs significantly from static loading. And besides changing behavior at the structural level, dynamic effects also strongly influence the response at the material level. It is revealed that it is advisable to assess the adequacy and accuracy of the numerical solution method using the value of the explosion range coefficient, which will avoid being tied to the actual mass of the charge and the distance to it. It is concluded that the use of direct dynamic methods in combination with nonlinear models of deformation of materials allows for a more in-depth study of changes in the stress-strain state of structures under explosive loading.
