The objective of the research was to examine the possibilities of a classical EuroSCORE use in prognosing of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events one year after coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) and to assess the efficacy of its modification by enlarging the item «leisure of extracranial arteries» with «stenoses of 30% and more». Patients and methods. The course of perioperative period of 232 patients undergone CABG was studied between January and August, 2006. The occurrence of events such as myocardial infarction, stroke, high-class angina was observed during a year after surgery. If there were any events the outcome was considered to be adverse. Preoperative assessment of patients using classical EuroSCORE let find true differences in the average score of patients with and without polyvascular atherosclerosis (4,71,8 и 2,11,4). Results: The area under the ROC-curve was 0,65 (0,58; 0,72) for a classical EuroSCORE and 0,76 (0,70; 0,82) for a modified one. Adjusted R2 showing a proportion of explained variance was 0.07 for a classical Euroscore and 0.20 for a modified one. Conclusion. EuroSCORE can be used to evaluate not only the inhospital but also the long-term period after CABG. The modification of the score, e.g. enlarging the item «leisure of extracranial arteries» with «stenoses of 30% and more», let increase its efficacy.
