CT potentials in the diagnostics of chronic femoral osteomyelitis

CT with «Somatom AR-HP» device was made in 61 patients with chronic femoral osteomyelitis, that gave the possibility to get additional information about the osteomyelitic process and the extensiveness of limb segment involvement. The data obtained were used by clinicians for determination of the scope of surgical intervention for the purpose of radical sequestrenecrectomy. CT use improved visualization of destructive changes in femur significantly, allowed to reveal the localization of the pathological process in bone and soft tissues more exactly, to perform radical sequestrenecrectomy.
