Opportunities for countering banditry: a modern view of the problem

The article examines in an interdisciplinary aspect the individual mechanisms of the emergence of organized criminal groups engaged in banditry, as well as the possibilities of their elimination on the basis of group psychological phenomena and modern advances in legal science. The analysis of judicial practice in the elimination of organized criminal groups engaged in banditry by concluding a pre-trial cooperation agreement is presented. The presented results should draw the attention of scientists and practitioners to the problem of combating organized crime, including bandit groups. In addition, the objective necessity of increasing the psychological competence of law enforcement officers, taking part in this combat, as well as the necessity for complex intersectoral interaction in solving the problem under consideration is substantiated.
