Opportunities of flax cultivation on gray wooden-steppe soil of Krasnodar region

Bio-climate aerial of spreading of gray wooden-steppe soil is connected with south foothill zone of Krasnodar region having all favorable climate characteristics for getting high yield from many of agricultural crops. Total area of wooden-steppe soil is 74 ths. ha in Krasnodar region accounting 42 ths. ha under the crops. Search of agricultural crops that can realize its potential yield on gray wooden-steppe soil is very urgent now. Flax is cultivated with less power-consuming technology with minimum chemical influence on the agro landscape in comparison with cereals and crops of wide-row method of sowing. Besides that covering soil it must protect the soil structure of rain damaging and minimize speed of streaming water washing soil down. It caused an ecological and economical significance of (lax cultivation in this zone. Thus, having the results of analysis of characteristics of gray wooden-steppe soil of Krasnodar region in total, economic trials at flax cultivation on this soil can be recommended.
