Possible ways to improve legislation regulating criminal liability for abuse of official authority

This article discusses the problematic issues of generalization and systematization of proposals for improving criminal legislation regulating liability for abuse of official authority. Corruption-related crimes have a fairly extensive set of consequences and have a negative impact on the strategic development processes of our country. They act as the strongest deterrent to the socio-economic development of the country, which makes it possible to consider corruption as a phenomenon threatening state and public security. As part of the research the problems of criminalization of the designated criminal phenomena are studied, proposals to improve the criminal legislation providing for liability for abuse of official powers (Аrticle 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), taking into account the relationship of this criminal act with corruption manifestations are developed. As a result of the study, the author proposes to make adjustments to the content of Article 285 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
