Monks’ disturbance at the Valaam monastery in the middle of the 19th century

In the present article the author analyzes monasterial disciplinary interrelations on Valaam. He observes the reasons and characteristics of monks’ disturbance in this convent in 40s of the 19th century, consistently uncovers the stages of disturbance and the result of hierocracy’s investigation. Canonical, dogmatic and moral causes of a displacement of Valaam Monastery’s guardian hegumen Veniamin are determined.
