The present article focuses on identifying conceptual age and psychological grounds of perception aimed at the increase of efficiency of informative and cognitive influence of mass media on all aspects of life activity of a person. The author analyses developmental potential of mass media using the material of TV schedules. The author both finds out and justifies criteria and psychological features determining cognitive needs of different age groups and basic principles providing educational and developmental potential of mass media influence using the material of TV schedules.
