Age and breed aspects of polycystic kidney disease in cats

At present time a great attention of veterinary experts is drawn by the problem of a polycystosis of kidneys in cats which is characterized by developments of multiple cysts in kidney tissue. The purpose of this research is to study of probability of pedigree and age predisposition to a kidney polycystosis in cats. Object of the study was 169 cats of different breeds (6 animals have kidney polycystosis), aged from 1 year up to 20 years. All cats have owners of the city of Omsk, addressed to University’s veterinary clinic of FSBEI HE Omsk state agrarian university named after P.A. Stolypin. The data analysis of monitoring of disease occurrence has been carried out of the period from May to December, 2017. Features of pedigree and age predisposition of cats to this disease also are found out, ultrasonography, clinical, laboratory (biochemical blood test and urine) and statistical methods of a research are carried out.
