The article is devoted to the socio-cultural characteristics and historical prerequisites for the revival of the national unity of the Russian people, aware of their historical purpose within the framework of a common historical destiny. The authors identify several synchronously occurring processes, simultaneously acting as the leading historical factors that led to the beginning of the revival of the lost national unity of the Russian people and their acquisition of sovereignty. The relevance of this issue in modern realities has increased with the development of processes of consolidation of the Russian ethnos within the framework of the institutional design of the Russian world and the activities of the Russian state to build a just multipolar (polycentric) world order. The preservation of Russian civilization is back on the agenda, as one of the phenomena of world history, which is based on Russian statehood and a unique set of traditional values developed and preserved by the Russian people throughout its centuries-old history.
