Rejunction to Southern America: several results, problems, perspectives

Starting from 2010 the authors of the paper are conducting wide-scale archaeological researches in Colombia and Ecuador (Northern Andes). This is the first Russian archaeological project in South America after a long break. These works realized by the group of specialists from Novosibirsk, Vladivostok and Moscow. The principle research focus is made on the studies of prehispanic cultures of southwestern Colombia (Ilama, Yotoco, Sonso, Quimbaya, Malagana, San Agustin), and the Pacific coast of Ecuador (Las Vegas, Valdivia, Tumaco - La Tolita). Archaeological excavations at one of the most important sites of Valdivia culture - Real Alto (Province of Santa Elena, Ecuador) - are scheduled for the fall of 2014.
